This time of year is always busy for new model releases coinciding with summer in Europe. In recent weeks we’ve seen some really exciting cars announced.
A new Ferrari is rare, and always something to celebrate. The new 12Cilindri is possibly the last of the naturally aspirated V12s, and sure to be collectible. We were lucky enough to have the 12Cilindri at Ferrari Melbourne and in the metal it is both futuristic, with touches of Ferrari’s famous past.
The new Bentley GT was also on show at Bentley Melbourne just days after the global launch. It looks great and the hybrid V8 powerplant is incredible. Hybrid tech is on show in the new Lamborghini Urus SE too, so with cars like these you really can have power and efficiency.
There’s also new products to discover from Audi, CUPRA, Fiat, Abarth and BRABUS, so there’s lots to catch up on.

Ferrari 12Cilindri
Sometimes, the power of an engine isn’t only measured in the horsepower.
Without doubt one of the most revered engines in motoring is the Ferrari V12. Many factors contribute to the mystique - the sound, the power, the long and spectacular history.
It’s no surprise then that some of the world’s most collectible cars have a Ferrari V12 under the bonnet and the latest Ferrari V12 celebrates the history of this evocative engine. In fact, the car is named after it. This rolling sculpture is the new Ferrari 12Cilindri.
Launched at the Miami Grand Prix, it follows the 812 Superfast (aptly named as well).This latest iteration of the Ferrari 12 cylinder revs to an incredible 9500rpm. This pure, turbo-free driving experience manages to create 611kW of seamlessly delivered power.
This is an exclusive car, with global demand far exceeding Ferrari’s ability to supply. It’s already being spoken of as a future classic – especially since this is possibly one of the last iterations of this incredible naturally-aspirated engine.
Following the Australian launch event, we were able to display the12Cilindri at Ferrari Melbourne where rightly, it commanded center stage.

CUPRA - TRIBE EDITIONS
New CUPRAs have broad appeal.
CUPRA’s success in the Australian market isn’t a surprise. The combination of style, performance and price makes these cars a compelling choice. Now, even more so.
The Leon V hatch and Formentor VZe SUV are now available in a limited ‘Tribe’ edition with more standard equipment than usual built into the price. The Leon V Tribe Edition features include unique black and copper accented alloys, new spoiler and skirts, heated leather seats and many more features with a powerful turbo engine delivering 140kW.
The Formentor VZe features many of the same options but rides on 19" wheels, and includes a 360 degree top view camera to compliment its long list of standard features.
In more news from CUPRA, the Ateca, previously only available in the top VZx trim now arrives as the more affordable Ateca V. This is the most practical SUV body shape in the CUPRA range, so it’s destined to have broad appeal for anyone wanting a stylish, practical, but still high-performing SUV.

Bentley GT

Lamborghini Urus SE
The highest tech delivers the highest performance.
This must be one of the ultimate hyper-SUV's! The stats alone will convince you of that.
Lamborghini describe the new Urus SE as having ‘two hearts - one electric, the other a twin turbo V8. Combined, they allow the Urus SE to reach 100km/h in 3.4 seconds. It probably took longer to read that sentence. Yet, driven on battery power alone, this hyper-SUV can travel around 60km, with very acceptable levels of performance for every day commuting making the technology very friendly to both user and the environment.
The combined torque and power levels are Lamborghini’s highest ever in a production vehicle, while the Urus SE is also capable of an 80% reduction in emissions. Braun and brains.
Instantaneous torque vectoring (front to rear), a rear limited slip diff, and the ability to individually brake all 4 wheels independently means this Urus handles like a Lamborghini should.
This is a hyper-SUV that deserves the hype. Urus has always been a spectacular product from Lamborghini and it points to an exciting high-tech future.
The first example of the Urus SE are due in Australia early next year and SUVs will never be the same again.

Charity Drive Days - Sandown
Doing laps. And doing good.
The latest Charity Drive Day was held at Sandown in Melbourne’s east - a shift from past track events at Phillip Island. This fast and open circuit saw a group of Zagame owners put their cars to the test and needless to say, the cars excelled on this challenging circuit.
Being a Melbourne-based event, activities concluded with a fund-raising dinner at the Fox Museum. The evening included a private showing of the cars and the facilities that make this venue truly world-class.
As a long-standing supporter of Charity Drive Days, Zagame were happy to assist with a new Abarth 500 Scorpion as a major prize for the raffle. All up more than $140,000 was raised to help local Children's Charities.
We’d sincerely like to thank the Fox family for their support, we can’t think of a better way to conclude the event than at the museum.

BRABUS announces new options - on a grand scale.

Behind the wheel - Audi RS Q8
The calm and the furious.
It’s easy to feel very comfortable very quickly in the Audi RS Q8.
Placement of all the controls makes perfect sense. For example, you can change the ambient temperature entirely by feel due to the simple genius of aligning the most-used controls to the screen edge. You appreciate it every time your eyes aren’t taken from the road to do something simple.
Then there’s the seats. They grip, they massage, they support, they warm and they cool. There is nothing they can’t do.
The interior of the RS Q8 proves again that Audi is consistently brilliant at shaping interiors to the shapes of people. It’s all very luxurious and supremely calm. But that’s before you depress the accelerator pedal.
More than the luxury, the space, and the 5 practical seats, this SUV is actually a very impressive sports car.
For starters, the steering is incredible. This is a ‘fingertips’ handler, the steering is nimble and utterly precise. It has an intuative ‘feel’. Your ability to place the car on the road or in a lane truly belies its size.
The RS Q8 is confidence inspiring. Which, given the performance is a very good thing. 60km/h is reached in the time it takes to say ‘blink’. In 3.6 seconds you’re travelling at 100km/h. The RS Q8 is supercar quick.
Yet somehow, it’s also spectacularly composed, comforting and confidence inspiring. At normal speeds it’s also very quiet - which makes it all the more enjoyable to turn up the equally astounding Bang and Olufsen audio system. That has punch too.
This is an easy car to fall completely in love with. It does so much, so well, while being relatively discreet about it all. Take a test drive at Audi now and you will be quietly impressed.
