Ferrari 348 GT Competizione
The 348 GT Competizione was a model designed specifically for the GT Championship on the 348 GTB platform. The car was radically lightened by eliminating all and any comfort-oriented features, including air-conditioning and mats. Its dry weight was 1180 kg complete with all of the safety equipment sported by the 348 Challenge version. The transmission had a short 25/27 gear ratio and a racing clutch with reinforced discs. The brakes were derived from the F 40 Evoluzione with no ABS, but larger discs and the suspension was modified for racing with rigid rose joints, competition-ready dampers and springs. The standard car’s 17" wheels were replaced by 18" ones with 239/635/18 tyres to the front and 265/645/18 to the rear. There was no great difference, however, in the engine, aside from the free flow exhaust.



The 1994 Ferrari 348 GT Competizione is a rare, lightweight, and track-focused version of the 348 series, built as a limited-edition homologation model. It’s one of the most desirable iterations of the 348 range. Here's an overview:

Engine: 3.4L naturally aspirated V8 with 320 hp at 7,000 rpm and 324 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm.

Weight: Approximately 1,180 kg, making it about 190 kg lighter than the standard 348, thanks to extensive use of lightweight materials such as Kevlar for the bumpers and doors.

Based on the 348 TB/TS design but optimized for racing, with wider 17-inch Speedline wheels, upgraded suspension, and revised aerodynamics.

The body features lightweight construction with carbon-Kevlar doors, a lighter front lid, and more aggressive rear grilles for better airflow.

The interior boasts a stripped-down racing feel: bucket seats with carbon fiber frames, minimalistic trim, and racing harnesses.

Only 50 units globally: 42 left-hand drive, 8 right-hand drive.

Built for homologation purposes to comply with FIA GT racing regulations, qualifying it for the GT class competitions of the 1990s.


Heritage:

As one of Ferrari’s rarest variants, the 348 GT Competizione is a collector’s dream. Despite its track-prepared nature, it is still road-legal and emphasizes raw, unfiltered driving pleasure.
